About Lawless
It all started in October 2020 when I decided to make a wooden American flag for the house. I built it, stepped back, and thought, “Well… it’s not the worst flag I’ve ever seen.” I hung it on the wall anyway—because confidence is key.
Then someone saw it online and asked, “Can you make me one?” My response: “Sure, I guess?…” And just like that, a hobby turned into a part-time business. Fast forward 600+ flags later—and I’m still at it.
By day (and night), I’m a full-time police officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. By evening and weekend, I’m out in the garage making sawdust and stars. It’s a one-man shop fueled by pride, purpose, and probably way too many energy drinks.
I’ve made flags for families honoring fallen heroes, military veterans, law enforcement officers, sports fans (including a couple pros), and patriotic folks who just want something meaningful on their wall. I even made a flag for my son with the stars upside down by accident… and it’s still up. We’re calling it “abstract.”
I grew up all over Connecticut, earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven, and then served nearly 7 years in the U.S. Army. After a few deployments, I transitioned to the Army National Guard in 2018 and became a police officer that same month. Apparently, I don’t like free time.
Now I live in North Carolina with my two perfect kids—Addison and Austin—and our lovable doofus of a Golden Retriever, Sam.
Thanks for checking out my work—each flag is made with heart, grit, and maybe a little dog hair (don’t worry, it’s complimentary).
